After we filmed a short draft of the idea we had for the sponsorship we noticed that the storyline wasn't clear and the audience might struggle with this. At the moment it is not clear that the couple are on a date, it could look as if they are a married couple, and it is also not clear that it is the man that has cooked the meal as the dishes are already on the table. We also noticed that it could potentially look as if he purposely cooked with dog food perhaps to poison her, this would give a completely different message and would confuse the audience when the slogan appears.
Due to this, we have recreated the storyboard which we still have to upload to our blogs. We are using the exact same storyline but having more shots in order for it to make sense. We will have quick shots of the man cooking the food, the door bell ringing and him greeting his date. In the clips of the man preparing the food we will show him adding a couple of ingredients from tin- chopped tomatoes, a sauce. It is here we will show the tin of dog food, a tin with a yellow label, however we won’t show that it is actually dog food this is just to introduce the tin and show it being added to the meal. It is important that the actor doesn’t look suspicious when he adds the dog food, it needs to be seen as a careless mistake. We will set the scene more for a date, maybe a few candles and possibly music, however we don't want this to be a distraction, we can decide whether we want to use music or not whilst filming to see if this works.
To enable our sponsorship to look professional we know a couple that would be happy to play these roles, it should create realism as they won’t feel awkward showing some romance, both of them also do A-level drama. Although it would be more realistic to have an older couple play the parts we don’t know anybody that could, as Kira and Oscar (the two that will be acting) are close friends we will easily be able to contact them to arrange dates for filming.
